Committed to accuracy, transparency, and editorial integrity
At CongoInvestor.com, we strive to maintain the highest standards of journalistic accuracy. We recognize that errors can occur, and when they do, we take responsibility by correcting them clearly, promptly, and transparently.
This Corrections Policy outlines how we handle factual errors, editorial updates, and reader-submitted correction requests.
1. Our Commitment to Accuracy
Accuracy is at the core of our mission. All articles published on CongoInvestor.com undergo editorial review and, where applicable, fact-checking prior to publication. We aim to ensure that all information—data, quotes, figures, names, and attributions—is correct at the time of publication.
If a factual error is identified, we correct it as quickly as possible while preserving the trust of our readers.
2. What We Correct
We correct:
- Factual inaccuracies (e.g. wrong names, dates, figures, locations, quotations)
- Misattributed or misquoted sources
- Incorrect interpretation or presentation of data
- Errors of omission that materially affect meaning
- Technical errors that mislead or confuse the reader
We do not correct:
- Typos or stylistic issues that do not affect meaning
- Subjective disagreements with editorial interpretation or commentary
3. Types of Corrections
a) Minor Edits
Spelling errors, grammar, and broken links may be corrected silently without a correction note, provided they do not alter the article’s meaning.
b) Substantive Corrections
Factual errors that impact the article’s accuracy, context, or reader understanding are corrected with a clearly marked editor’s note at the bottom of the article, indicating:
- What was corrected
- When the correction was made
- Why the correction was necessary (if relevant)
c) Full Retractions
In rare cases where a published article is found to be fundamentally inaccurate, misleading, or based on unreliable sources, it may be retracted and replaced with an explanation or update.
4. How to Request a Correction
If you believe an article contains an error, please contact us.
Include the following:
- Article title and URL
- Description of the error
- Suggested correction (if applicable)
- Supporting evidence or source (optional but helpful)
Our editorial team will review all correction requests in good faith and determine whether a correction is warranted. We aim to respond within 5 working days.
5. Transparency in Updates
Articles that are updated for context, background, or developments after publication will be marked as “Updated” at the top or bottom, along with the date of modification. These updates are not considered corrections unless they amend a prior error.
6. Corrections Log
Major corrections or retractions may be logged in a Corrections Archive for public record and accountability. We believe transparency builds long-term trust.
7. Contact
For corrections, complaints, or questions related to editorial accuracy, please contact us.
We thank our readers and contributors for helping us uphold the accuracy and integrity of our reporting.
